HHS REPORTS NATL PAIN STRATEGY WILL NOT BE PLACED ON “URGENT” STATUS UNLESS WE ARE SEEN AND HEARD!!!

UPDATE FROM HHS REQUESTING TO HEAR FROM CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS: I spoke with Thomas Novotny, Assistant Secretary to Sylvia Burwell, this morning and I as assured that our voices are being heard, but THEY NEED TO SEE US AND HEAR FROM US. He agreed with me that it is difficult for chronic pain patients to get out, but said, in essence, that’s the way it is. He said they need to SEE US AND HEAR US.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE RALLY IN DC ON 10/22/16, PLEASE SEND A FAMILY MEMBER, FRIEND, CAREGIVER, ETC to be there on your behalf.  It is imperative that we have a good showing.  THE MORE THE BETTER!!!  THE URGENCY CAN’T BE EMPHASIZED ENOUGH.

IF YOU CAN MAKE IT TO THE RALLY IN DC ON 10/22, PLEASE SEND YOUR STORY VIA EMAIL TO THE FOLLOWING:

Novotny, Thomas (HHS/OASH) (HHS/OASH) <Thomas.Novotny@hhs.gov>; Stevenson, Monica L (HHS/OASH) (HHS/OASH) <Monica.Stevenson@hhs.gov>; Manning, Marcus (HHS/OASH) (HHS/OASH) <Marcus.Manning@hhs.gov> Sylvia.Burwell@hhs.gov; VeteransAndAmericansUnited@aol.com

They need to hear your story to place urgency on the National Pain Strategy, which I was assured will not take years to get put into place, but months.  I was urged over and over to get your stories in!!!

PLEASE COPY ME (I HAVE ALREADY ADDED THE EMAIL ADDRESS, VeteransAndAmericansUnited@aol.com above) ON THE STORIES SO THAT I CAN HAND-DELIVER THEM TO THE WHITE HOUSE ON 10/21!!!

Sylvia Burwell’s email may bounce back because I’m not sure about her email address, but I have formatted it the way the others are formatted, so please email your entire story to her asap.

    1. I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you are at least getting adequate pain relief. I am really disappointed in our Country for allowing and even encouraging the discrimination against people who are already ill or injured. We are working very hard to get all this changed for us. What state are you in Brian?
